OUR STORY
"Where There's a Passion-There's a Purpose" Chef Jay

A native of New York City; Chef Jay began his professional culinary career making chili in the kitchen at the well known Italian deli/restaurant "Sopranos" in Waverly, NY. Chef Jay's deep appreciation for "gastropub" style cuisine was developed while living and working in Fulham London, UK; where he was exposed to a variety of foods and cooking styles that fueled his intense passion for cooking. Jay eventually learned various cooking techniques and skills under the Executive Chef at the Arbiter pub/restaurant where he was a Deputy Bar Manager. Jay would occasionally fill in for absent sous chefs and worked and studied the nuances of French, Italian, and Classic American cuisine.

Jay spent time traveling through Europe, eventually settling back in Philadelphia, PA, where he decided to master his own cooking style. Chef Jay cooks with a diverse but simple flair, bringing bold and savory flavor to the table.

In 2010 Chef Jay decided to start his company "F.E.A.S.T." (Food Every Aficionado Should Taste). He worked on building his brand and his business part-time while he worked as a Settlement Coordinator in a corporate real estate office in Devon, PA. 

In 2014 Chef Jay decided to embark on his chef service business full time. Since then his creativity and innate understanding of quality client service are helping to satisfy Philadelphia's demand for fresh affordable great tasting food.

Chef Jay was awarded as Thumbtack.com's best of 2015, 2016 Philadelphia Private Chef, and a 2017 Top Pro.
